NOV 10: POEMS AND SONGS OF TENDERNESS AND RESCUE. Rosaly DeMaios Roffman and Eva Salina Cornelia Street Cafe, 6pm. The performance will include poems that touch on Ladino, Greek and family connections and memories and then also Rosaly’s prayer-voice, intimacy and ethnic poems exclusively interwoven with the performance of Balkan, Greek and Romani singing responses and commentary from the extraordinary folk-singer Eva Salina. Imagery-pictures and the unfolding of identity with personal and traditional themes is the subject and what has been categorized as the constant thread in Rosaly’s work and Eva’s singing: a juggling of the “ordinary and the sacred.”
